La Peniche (French for The Barge), is our name for the MV Riasc, a beautifully restored classic cargo barge moored between locks C4 and C5 on Dublin’s Historic Grand Canal.
We invite you aboard to sample our critically acclaimed foods and drink, and take in the nature and sights of the Grand Canal from our deck.
After a storied history being part of Ireland’s transport backbone, the MV Riasc was laid up after the canals closed to commercial transport in the 1960’s. She was brought and lovingly restored to the highest standards by her current owners and she now rests in her tranquil moorings on Dublin’s Mespil Road, only 10 minutes from St. Stephen’s Green.
She now serves as Dublin’s premier restaurant and venue. We offer delicious lunch and dinner options, and the boat can be booked out in its entirety for corporate events, weddings, hen/stag parties.
You can walk-in seven days a week for lunch or dinner. We are open from 12.30 every day, and close at 21.00 Sunday to Thursday and 23.00 on Friday and Saturday nights.
